How to Customize and Filter Widgets

Updated: August 28, 2025

Step 1: Enter Widget Edit Mode

First, you need to open the editor for the specific widget you want to modify.

  1. Navigate to the dashboard containing the widget you wish to customize.
  2. Hover over the widget and click in the center of the widget to open the widget editor interface.

Step 2: Customize Widget Appearance

Once in the editor, you can change the title, chart type, and other visual settings.

  1. To change the name, simply type a new name into the Widget Title field.
  2. To change the visualization, click on a chart type below the widget preview and select a new option (e.g., Table, Pie Chart, Bar Chart).
  3. Use the Widget Customize tab at the top to make further adjustments. For example, with a Pie Chart, you can toggle options like Show Percentage or the Legend. The preview will update instantly.

Step 3: Apply Filters to Your Data

Use filters to narrow down the dataset displayed in the widget.

  1. Click on the Data tab and click the funnel icon next to the selected dataset.
  2. Click the Add Filter button to create a new filter rule.
  3. Define your rule by selecting a field to filter by (e.g., “Configuration Type”), a condition (e.g., “is”, “is not”, “contains”), and a value.
  4. You can add multiple filters to further refine the data. The widget preview will update to reflect your filter rules.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Once you are satisfied with your customizations, save the widget.

  1. Click the Save button at the top of the editor.
  2. You will be returned to your dashboard, where you will see the updated widget with all your changes applied.

Your widget is now customized! You can repeat this process for any widget on your dashboards to tailor them to your exact needs.
